What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Any thoughts?

The cliche "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" got me thinking. I used to believe this was true but now I just don't know.

I mean, looking back on the struggle I've gone through to help my mom with her cancer, yes - there's truth in this cliche. One must never give up, no matter how hard it becomes. As long as you're alive, you have to fight. No matter what. On the other hand, it's much harder to cling to those words when we're in the thick of an issue.

But that's just my humble opinion.

Take care!

How is your mom doing?

I tend to think in reality terms.....phrases like that were propably said to offer support and give someone strength to move on and through adversity. It isn't a philosophy or command or rule for one to function. That one is right up there with "be/think positive", " it could always be worse" and "it was meant to be".

Perception has many sides. And with any of those type phrases, I wonder where the line of acceptance will be when one decides he/she has had enough and if others will understand or continue believing that living no matter what is absolute.

It's good to question.....some are willing go deeper than limiting to not wanting to know more.
