Liver Cancer!
My Dad was diagnosed with a Liver Tumor. Turns out it is malignant, stage 4 (advanced). They told us there is no cure only treatments. He will have a chemo-embolization treatment tomorrow morning.

Another thing is that his stomach became bloated, also his scrotum became enlarged. It is very difficult for him to move around, even to repositon himself in bed. A urologist saw him yesterday. They will be giving him a cystectomy today at noon.

He is 82 years old. Just last month he was full of life!

Re: Liver Cancer!

My uncle got the same pair of diagnoses on a Friday and he was admitted that day and was dead by Sunday. He was 33 but drank like no man ever before or since.

Re: Liver Cancer!
My dad passed away on the 24th, he was admitted on the 1st.

What sort of tests can determine cirrohis? Can it be diagnosed from a simple blood test?

Re: Liver Cancer!

I would like to know more about your dad and what his symptoms were. Also, were his blood tests normal or did they show liver problems as well. My dad has a mass near his liver and he is 80. They will tell us Tuesday if it is malignant. His blood tests were normal.

Re: Liver Cancer!
Joe, I am sorry about your husband has primary liver cancer also, but he is a candidate for a transplant, so we are waiting (5th month!) for that. He also has cirhossis, though we do not know how advanced, His cancer was caused by long term Hep C--probably had it for 40 years, but he is non-drinker, which probably saved huis life. I do think the cirhossis shows upion blood work, I know the cancer does, that's how my hubby's GI found it. 84 is good long life, but still, you never want to let your loved ones go.
