bilij or Anyone.......question about AmbienCR?
Just have a moment to ask a quick question. I have finally made it to my doc for Ambien CR and have taken it for two nights. I have taken regular Ambien for approx. 3yrs. My question....does anyone else wake up on the AmbienCR or does it take a few nights to really work? I do wake up but I go right back to sleep which is fine with me I was just curious about the fact that I wake up when I thought it was to prevent that.

Re: bilij or Anyone.......question about AmbienCR?
Hi Glojer, most nights I wake up about 1 or 2 o'clock, but go right
back to sleep. With the regular Ambien, I would wake up and most nights
only doze off and on until morning. I usually go to bed early and actually
get a little more sleep than I need, but the good thing about Ambien,
there's no drugged feeling in the morning. I'm still praying for you and your
family....I don't always know your need, but our Father in heaven knows
and that's what matters. Rest well tonight, my friend.

Re: bilij or Anyone.......question about AmbienCR?
Hi Glojer!
I am still trying to work out Ambien, but I do well on it. The first time I wasn't expecting the strong, quick effect on an empty stomach. Then I talked in my sleep at a hotel w/ family and it bothered me. So I tried other things (excedrin pm, 2 zanax) and I was up all night w/hangover.
So, I warned my not so supportive husband to deal w/nighttime grogginess and snoring or I can't sleep.
It hasn't failed me on going to sleep yet. But 4 yr old woke me up at 2:30 and kept me up for awhile and I was hungover for an hour this morning.
Sorry for the long post.
I like Ambien!

Re: bilij or Anyone.......question about AmbienCR?
Hi Glojer, hope all is well with you. That's great you got into your doctor & they gave you a script for AmbienCR. With it I do still wake up about 50% of the time between 2-3am. Usually I can fall back asleep vs. regular Ambien which with I was usually forced to take something over the counter so I could sleep the rest of the night. The makers of it say that it works best if you take it on an empty stomach - I usually have to take it 30 minutes before I go to sleep. But, it's rare that with it I don't get to sleep. Thank the Lord!! Getting sleep is about the best thing ever. :)
Let us know how it works out for you.
Wishing you well,

Re: bilij or Anyone.......question about AmbienCR?
Thanks for the responses. Bilij, that is exactly how regular ambien and now the ambien cr works for me. With regular ambien I would wake up and do that drift in and out thing and now with the ambienCr I wake up but go right back to sleep. I'm glad it is working normal for me. It seems the first 2nights I did sleep a little more than normal but this is about 4 nights now and I seem to have leveled off. So far I really like it.

Deena, yes my husband has noticed a snoring problem since the ambienCR. I told him to tell me to roll over but since I am not the most pleasant person if you wake me up he has hesitated to do that. He finally did tell me and I didn't even know it, I just rolled over and kept on sleeping. To those of us who don't sleep that is just sooooooo wonderful.

Suni, I hear you on the empty stomach for the ambien to work. There are times I have to make the choice either to enjoy a dinner out with my daughter and eat late because of her hours or bite the bullet and take extra sleep meds to get to sleep or just wait it out. I usually choose the late dinner, because those special times with my daughter are to precious to pass up. I haven't had that happen since the ambienCR, don't know what I will do probably just wait it out to work since I know I will sleep through the night.

Thanks for the tips and advice. Bilij the prayers are always welcome, braveman has had a little relapse and will be seeing a specialist at the university here. He is suppose to be world renowned for muscle and neurological disorders. That is he will see him if we can get an appointment, his rhuematologist is sending a letter. I have put it all in Gods hands, braveman has made progress on so many fronts that I really can't complain.
