Re: I'm new to the board and I need some support

    Hi mmee

I am not sure how this works on these boards so bear with my fumbling.

I have had several issues over the course of the last 20 years. First time I was really ill with a virus I caught when I was vaccinated for Legionaires Disease. I became so ill I couldn't work for 2 weeks. I was 20 at the time. Ever since then I would get viruses 2 or 3 times a year. My lymph glands in neck & groin would become inflamed. Then I ruptured my disc in my low back, I have dislocated my shoulder, not once but 4 times. Then when I was pregnant I was diagnosed with a tumor in my thyroid gland and I have a hyperthyroid. When I delivered my son, my placenta ruptured & I and my son almost died. I had 104 temp when I got to the hospital. My GYN wouldn't respond to the hospital pages, he was at a basketball game. They said I was toxic due to the late delivery. Now 10 years later I had what we thought was a mild stroke and my face drooped. The ER doc said I had fluid in my ear & sent me home.. yes I know it keeps getting better. Then I started getting these migraine headaches EVERY DAY for a year. Let me tell you I was about ready to throw the towel in. My rib pain started and then I started getting dizzy and losing my balance. But also I have no feeling to the skin, from my face all the way down to my feet. I lost all sensation. So I went to Barrows Neurological Center and they tested me for MS. They told me I had literaly holes in my brain that was causing all the nerves to misfire. They said this was due to 1. sudden trauma, 2. multiples viruses. So..... Oh and forgot to say I just broke my ankle and dislocated it. The ER doc had to pull my foot away from the bone to get it back in place, this is while I am awake !! Once they do it they knock you out and your suppose to not remember anything.
So several more years go by and I get this really horrible sore on my eye ball, it hurt so bad I couldn't move my eye. My doctor misdiagnosed it so I went to a specialist who tells me all my symptoms are from this Arthritic Gene , my stiffness, my eye, my constant bowel irritation.

I went to a Rhuematologists who then tells me I also have Firbro. Do you think I am bitter towards physicians, just a little.

So I think the Fibro is linked to some of what I have endured. They say it is stress related. If you have stressed , get rid of it ! It's too late now for me, my sudden unforseen trauma has already happend !

Do you get out & do things? Do you have friends come over? I think laughing is good medicine, maybe rent a funny movie or watch enternaining tv shows ? I am actually about 50% better, I am also on relafen & sulfasalazine which helps the rib pain and bowel issue. I think if you try to keep moving and say I am not going to let this ruin my life, and just keep plugging away. It is really hard and my doctor tells me to take tylenol ! ha ha ..

Hang in there. I hope you have a great weekend.

Sorry, forgot to answer your question about heart rythem. Yes I was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat about 4 years ago. Rapid beat could be due to thryoid issue also ?

I have heard that there is a greater population now that have thyroid problems. So check on that also when you go, it can make you tired too. Gaining weight or losing weight is a sign of thryoid issues also.

Thanks so much for your posts.
Bless your heart, you surely have had some time of it. I hope that things are on there way up for you and not so many bad things happening. Bless your heart.
I have taken your advise and I will discuss them with my doctor on Wednesday. The doctor I am going to actually specializes in Thyroid. I also want him to check my parathyroid too. I am hoping for some results this week.
Thanks so much again for your posts and I hope that you can have a break from so many tragedies.
    Thanks so much again.
