Ok if foot off foam wedge?

I am preparing for big toe fusion surgery in two weeks. Im having a hard time purchasing a foam wedge to sleep etc. it looks like my foot would hang off the edge of many of them. They range in height from 8to 11. What has worked best for you? Im 54

My foot also hangs off the top and that part is ok for me. I think its supposed to. On mine, the back of my knee doesnt hit the bend in the wedge for me. Im 55.

I didn't have to use one with my fusion. Is this a directive from your doctor?

No, it was not. I read about elevation and icing on various foot surgery boards. The elevation reduces swelling and when swelling is reduced, theres less pain.
