Infection-broke ankle in process

Well I am still continuing it looks like with the infection/allergic reaction process. I cracked my ankle bones on Monday and am now nwb in a cast which sucks, my campus is way too big. I am going to a doc at *** in NYC in Dec, but I have like 5 weeks till that happens. I have an indium bone scan on Thursday and should know more.. But I am losing my mind.. Any ideas on what to do in the meantime. My GP had to cast me cuz no one would take my case here, my old os I refuse to see because well, I told him something was still wrong and then my ankle broke so easy. Could use some thoughts.. Thanks!

Wow, that really sucks! I know you have been through a lot. It must feel like you ankle is never going to get better! All I can say is hang in there and good luck with the NY doctor.

Very sorry that you are still having problems. Check with your school's disability resources or ADA department to see if they have any assistance for you. I got a golf cart escort to and from classes when I was on crutches. Just hang in there, though. I hope things start to turn around soon!

Re: Infection-broke ankle in process

I had 4 surgeries to correct ankle instability, the fourth an osteotomy and chrisman snook. Looked like I got something in the screw and the sutures they used for the ligament repair I was allergic too, had it cleaned out in May along with a round of IV antibiotics w/picc line. Still having problems, fevers, pain, swelling, redness etc. I am losing it. I am only 19 and this is non-ending, I hurt the ankle over three years ago.. That's a basic backround.
