Foot all black and blue --is that normaL?

OK i just noticed in the last few days that my foot is all black and blue on the side next to my heel. Tonight it looks even worse because my foot has been down all day so its b and b and swollen. I need to ice it. But I find it strange that the surgery was on the top front of my foot and yet the back side of my foot is black and blue. Just wondered if anyone else had this?

While the surgery was in a specific area, the doctor manipulated parts that effect your whole footm as well as your blood vessels and veins. My entire foot bruised with both bunionectomies. It's normal.

I also agree with cosmic, it happened to me at six weeks, but prior to that, I always kept it elevated. Please try to keep it elevated as much as possible when you are seated. It helps in more ways than you can imagine.

I hope you are taking it easy and careful
