2 Weeks Post Op For Double Osteotomy .. Now On To Dynasplint .. Any Experience ?

Hello, I am currently nearly 3 weeks post-op from a double osteotomy with screw in great toe after stage 3 Hallux Rigidus.

I suffered with HR for 2 years before finally agreeing to surgery. I have literally no ROM yet in my toe, so my doc has ordered a dynasplint to be fitted at my next office visit.

Does anyone have any experience with this appliance? It looks PAINFUL to me; at this point I can't wrap my MIND around the fact that it won't be EXCRUCIATING to attempt to bend this joint to restore ROM.

I am a runner (well I *was* until surgery) and have a long-term goal of my third marathon on March 1, 2009 .. training hopefully will begin late October, so my doc is really trying to get me back to where I want to be .. which of course is running at 100%.

Any thoughts on Dynasplint? Hopefully success stories?
