Re: Walking on foot with nonunion
I am eight months post-op for a fractured navicular, and also have non-union. I am walking on it, and doing as much activity as possible. The surgeon said, i cant do any more harm, but no heavy impact stuff. So i push the envelope, and back off when i make myself too sore. I do a lot of weight training, use the non-impact cardio machines at the gym, walk as much as possible, and try to do karate at least once a week. That last one always makes me sore, but after being on crutches for 5 months, i refuse to sit on my ***. I have two screws in there, so i know the fracture is stable. Frankly, i think life is too short to worry about making it worse. I know that i will need another surgery in the future, so in the mean time i am doing what i can. I definalty find that the more normal stuff you can do physically, the better you will feel mentally.
