hammer toe

Is it painful to have a pin removed after a hammer toe correction, can you be given a local anesthetic.

Re: hammer toe

I had hammertoe surgery in May and had a pin in my toe for nearly a month. When they took it out I didn't even feel it, so you should be fine. There is no need for a local anesthetic.
