    what's the best way to treat hallux limitus? if operation, how long is the recovery and for how long the results last?

    So a search on this site and you'll find tons of posts about this. The surgery is called a cheilectomy. How long it lasts varies from person to person and your activity level.
    Also, for women who wear high heels, it probably won't last as long. Treatments prior to surgery include anti-inflammatory meds, orthotics, change of footwear and restriction of activities.
