I was just wondering if anyone has used acupuncture to help with the swelling and pain after bunion surgery and if it really does make a difference?

I had surgery May 20 and the swelling and pain is still not good. I am getting really frustrated with this and am still icing my foot and elevating it every night but not really helping. I would think that after 11 weeks things would be getting better but not yet.

Re: Acupuncture???

When I said I had had acupuncture on a previous post, my doctor said to describe it as neuromodulation medical acupuncture and it is certainly practised in the US. I have had great results from it, you can literally see the swelling going down. I have had very little pain though, perhaps you should get that checked, but do try the acupuncture. I am nearly 10 weeks post op and feet are looking good. BB
