Well, I'm finally out of the cast and into a boot. I can do 50% weight with crutches on my newly remodeled foot. I was so surprised at how weak my ankle and leg are in just 10 weeks. Walking is very frustrating with this boot on. The Ortho Dept molded my leg and foot for a brace that the Dr. Says I will have to wear for 8 to 12 months. It fits in your shoe and keeps your foot from rolling sideways at all until the fusion is completely healed. All in all, my foot feels great! the circulation is good, I don't have any numbness at all and the swelling is very minimal. On another note. My Dr didn't seem to think I would need PT because I had good range of motion in my ankle ( I had basic knowledge of how to do this PT because of football injuries over the years) so I'm on my own. I wish I had asked more questions about walking. Like, how many times a day do I walk and do I walk until it hurts? Any ideas?....
