    Re: Walking After Ankle Surgery

You said, "Synovrctomy is removing the inflammation out of the fluid called the synovial lining. I imagine you had some sort of synovitis/tenosynovitis." So does this mean that I probably had inflammation with fluid in my ankle?
    Is that from swelling?

The post op report also said that "the liagments were identified and noted to be attenuated." I have no idea what this means. These reports are like another language! LOL
Thanks for your responses...it's been helpful!

No it's inflammation of the fluid filled sheath that surrounds a tendon. It isn't the swelling you're thinking about and swelling is caused by this, not the other way around. Attenuated means very, very thin. So basically they aren't tight, thick and taut like they are supposed to be.

I see. Thanks for explaining! If the ligaments are attenuated and very thin, I hope the surgery made them thicker and stronger!!!

Well you speak a little to have written that! Hablo espaņol un poco. I speak a little Spanish. Actually I speak a lot, but I'm not fluent. I am conversational though. Ive been mixing up my languages and suddenly cant think of words and phrases in English! My friend has had to give me the words ive needed! She says shes been my interpreter! The week was exhausting, but it's one of the best weeks of the year and I miss Spain and the kids when I'm not there!

Now as far as the question I was asking...I was wondering when your surgery is! How are you doing? How's the ankle feeling? Mine is killing me at the moment!

    Re: Walking After Ankle Surgery

Great spanish!!! What kind of work were you going in Spain?
My surgery was on May 23rd. NO more surgeries scheduled, thank God!!! Aww, why is yours killing you? My ankle is doing great. Sore and stiff but for being only 6 weeks post op, I am doing well. Tomorrow is week 2 of physical therapy and I will attempt to walk in my sneakers without the boot and ride a bike. I'm excited.

Maybe someone else on this thread is suppose to have surgery soon..

We did an English camp for kids! Ankle is killing me because of constant swelling and bring on it all day day after day and then hauling it through several airports! Ugh! Ok you did have surgery! Sorry! Mind is so scattered! Glad it is doing well ! Mine is too, but this is really pushing it lately!

Hooray for driving! I was in alot of pain when I started - as my job was over an hour away. Short trips weren't bad, it actually felt great to be out and about again! Just be careful about braking with right foot.... I'm STILL using my left foot to brake.... have fun!

Yay for driving! Woohoo! Be careful and don't overdo it. I'm sorry I, don't have any more advice than that. It was my left ankle thankfully! I would've have to ask too if it had been my right! Hope it goes well!

    Re: Walking After Ankle Surgery

I am hoping to schedule my surgery in early October (once the tourist season is over). I hope y'all are still around to help with questions and advice. This board is so incredibly helpful. I am Stage 2 or 3 (they won't be able to tell til they open me up, so repair is what I'm praying for, but it may be a fuse). Muchas gracias!
