| Osteochondritis Dissecans.
Hello, I have been diagnosed with OCD of the talus a couple months ago. I am a 29 year old male, and I have never broken my foot or had any injuries to it. So my Doctor and I are curious as to how it happened. Anyways, I am scheduled to have surgery Dec 3rd, going to be performing it Arthroscopically. I do know that I will be unable to bear weight for a minimum of 6 weeks, But my doctor is saying I will not have a cast on. Would there be anything on it at all? Maybe a splint? Or will it just be open to the air? My surgeon also said that he is hoping for only a 75% success rate.. Will I suffer any long term complications with this? Just looking for a bit of guidance on this.
