4% alcohol sclerosing solution for morton's neroma

I've been diagnosed with morton's neuroma in one foot. Do 4% alcohol sclerosing solution injections work? For 3 years, I've experienced that feeling of walking on tiny marbles, sand in my shoes and that my sock is scrunched up. PT hasn't worked as of yet and am considering the injections as my next step.

Custom orthopedic insoles have failed, dozens of loose fitting recreational / walking shoes have failed. I know feel the symptons in my barefeet even on relatively soft carpeting. Obviously, it is not my shoe selection.

I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks in advance.

Paul

Re: 4% alcohol sclerosing solution for morton's neroma

I didn't do them for mine as I felt the odds for success were too low. I had mine removed surgically - my mother had one done several years prior with good recovery so I felt better about that outcome. I was off work only one day. Totally unremarkable recovery. No pain meds beyond Aleve. 10 years later, all is still well. Find a sports med ortho who is Foot and Ankle Board certified. They see them all the time in athletes - and women who were high heels! - and should have plenty of experience removing them.
