Post Gallbladder Removal Heartburn & Zantac

Hi there. I had my gallbladder removed close to 5 years ago and have been taking Ranitidine 150 off and on for recurring heartburn issues that developed shortly after the surgery. I started taking it based on talking to others who had the surgery and experienced the same issues. Now that Zantac is getting recalled, I'm curious what others take or do to not lie awake, feeling like their throat and chest is on fire. ;-) Thanks in Advance!

My doctor said to switch to Nexium. She said if I take that for two weeks straight without missing a dose and watch my diet (do not eat triggering foods) I should only Have to take a Nexium maybe once a month

I suffer From severe Gerd and acid reflux so maybe try that?
