Is it my Gallbladder??

You probably need to express your concerns to your doctor again or ask for a referral to another one, perhaps a specialist. It's possible this could be several things. I think it is possible it is a gallbladder, but the diagnosis may not be that.

I'm thinking more hiatal hernia than gallbladder as the symptoms you have are not your typical ones for gb problems....

I agree with Titchou it sounds more like a Hiatal hernia, ask your doc to check for this before they possibly do an unecessary gallbladder removal.

I have some reservation about their diagnosis, they saw something but have not explained what it is. I had a few scans and they saw that I had a flap in my gallbladder, it was only my persistance at looking for other causes that we found out I had a hernia, mines a Inguinal hernia. But I am glad I stoped them chopping out my gallbladder because it would not of solved the problem.

Thank you for your ideas! I really need to hear these - helps keep me sane as I've been dealing with this feeling off and on in my chest for almost four months now. I forgot to mention in my original post that when my father was my age (30 years old) he too thought he was having a heart attack because of the odd feeling in his chest and after weeks of tests, they determined that he needed to have his gallbladder out. My mom has also had her gallbladder out - about 2 years ago. I'm not sure if family history plays much of a part in all of this gallbladder talk, but I figured it was worth posting here. Thank you for your ideas regarding a Hiatal hernia. I will certainly be bringing that up to my doctor. Again, thank you for any additional thoughts you have for me - they all help!!

Family history is a big gb risk. If your ultrasound was clear then you should have a HIDA scan to check for gallbladder function. Anything below 35% is considered non-functioning and a candidate for removal.

I saw my GI today and she was pretty determined to announce that my symptoms were not connected to my Gallbladder. She scheduled a scope of my stomach for next week. But here I am, uncomfortable, frustrated and unsatisfied with her quick declaration. I told her about my dad who didn't have pain where his gallbladder was (when he was 30, just like me) but instead felt like he was having a heart attack. I told her that my mom recently had hers out and my grandmother had hers out. That didn't seem to phase her. I told her that I've had incredible gas lately and that my left shoulder blade has started to feel like I slept on it weird (typically after my work day is over and I'm sitting after walking all day). She told me that her 20 years of experience made her positive that everything I was describing was too A-typical when it comes to Gallbladder symptoms and therefore couldn't be my GB. I asked her about the possibility of a Hiatial Hernia (sp?) and she said that that would've shown up on an earlier cat scan. I asked about the HIDA scan and she said that I seemed resistant to other possibilities. I'm open to other possibilities, but I just feel like I've been hitting my head against a wall for four months now with different doctors and the possibility of GB issues was the only thing giving me hope. Any ideas???
