I had the same problem. My doctor explained it to me like this....The gall bladder works like a detergent to handle the bile your body produces. No gall bladder, the bile will pass quickly through the bowels or can give you painful indigestion. He wrote me a perscription for Colestipol. It comes in pill form or packets of gritty dry substance like sand that you put into a drink, like milk. It works great!

does this absorb the bile?

I've been on Questran, which is believe is pretty much the same thing, since September last year. Has been working amazingly, up until a few weeks back.
