Re: Upper back pain

Well, definitely follow up with your doctor as advised! Back pain could have several sources but gallbladder pain can definitely be referred to the upper back. I had pain in the middle of my chest, between my shoulder blades and in a tight band around my ribcage - I never once had the typical right-sided pain. If they didn't do a gallbladder ultrasound in the ER, ask your doctor about ordering one. Good luck and let us know how everything goes.
