Hi all, hope someone can help me. In September last year I had about a month of dizzy spells. Then in October I developed swelling under the eyes, extreme darkness around the eye sockets, facial pressure, headaches and extreme fatigue. I went to the doctors who told me it was a virus but it didn't go away. A month later I saw another doctor who said it was sinisitus. I had two rounds of antibiotics but they didn't help either. After 4 months of contact pain and pressure and swelling I had a CT scan of my sinuses which came back
Normal. I was then given steriod nasal spray which didn't help and caused nosebleeds so I stopped taking them. I've been seeing a reflexologist which relieves the pressure but only temporarily. I'm in constant pain and the only thing that helps is putting pressure on my eye sockets and side of nose. I wake up very congested and for the first hour I'm blowing my nose constantly which produces clear thick mucus. Then nothing and then the facial pressure begins and by 7pm I am exhausted and in a lot of pain. I'm a primary school teacher and single mother and this is having huge impact on my quality of life and ability to do what I need to properly. My eyes are constantly puffy and dark and it's affecting my confidence. I went to see the facial pain clinic at hospital who diagnosed me with chronic facial pain (I could have told them
That) but couldn't explain what was causing it or the facial swelling. Does anyone have any clue what I might do next. I'm at my wits end and nothing works. Thank you .

Re: What is causing this pain?
No allergy testing nor antihistamines? That's very odd.

I asked for allergy testing two months ago but my GP said no until I saw the facial pain clinic, so I'm going to go back to the doctors on Tuesday and ask again. The right eye in particular is very swollen today and the upper part of my face. Could an allergic reaction be causing this for over 7 months?! I've cut out dairy and alcohol, not sure what else can be causing it!!!

Re: What is causing this pain?
Grass, trees, dogs, cats, flowers, etc, weeds, etc...yes, an environmental allergy can be the cause. You might dry a cold compress to help with the swelling
