    What Does This Sound Like?

I know you guys can't diagnose me, but I just want some ideas, so I can ask questions when I'm at the doctors.

When I was eighteen, I was slim, and very short.

When I was eighteen years old, I was sitting in my dark room in the afternoon; I was not home alone as my uncle was home, so it was either a Saturday or Sunday. The only light I had on in my room was my TV as I was watching 2 Kuni Lemel. I was sitting on my bed writing fanfiction. A typical day for me. Then all at once, my right side (head to toes) went all pins and needles. Needless to say, I was freaked out.

It didnít go away, and I got up. Just standing up was painful. Know when your foot is asleep and you standup on it? It was like that but for my entire right side. I told myself I was going to get some water in the kitchen. Well, I couldnít walk very well. I ended up sitting on the foyer step in my old house, but apparently my uncleís dog did not approve of my new walking style and started to bark at me.

But her bark wasnít her happy bark or playful bark, it was a bark that you shouldnít be in the house. It got my uncleís attention and he saw me sitting there. Iíve sat there in the past. But Iím not sure if I looked sick or what, but he asked if I was okay. I didnít answer him as it was very difficult for me to speak. He rushed over to me and laid me down on the couch and kept trying to talk to me.

My speech was slurred as half my tongue was pins and needles and it hurt to move the thing. He got me in his car and took me to the Urgent Care. On the way, I tried to text my (then) boyfriend, but found it difficult. My right hand is my dominate hand. I was checked in and the nurses checked my heart and lungs. They told me my lungs sounded great! And that I should never smoke.

They said my heart sounded good but a little fast, I tried to tell them hospitals are a place of fear for me; they giggled and told me it was fine, that I have a simple case of White Coat Syndrome. Then I went in to see the doctor. He seemed really concerned about my sex life and my period. Told him I was sexually active (wasnít) and my last period was normal. He then dismissed me. Told me to drink fluids and rest.

    That was it.

    No tests.

    No overnight stay.

    Just rest and fluids.

I went home. Following that ordeal, my right hand was extremely shaky. I couldnít even take horror movies out of their boxes without flinging them across the room. My grip was either extremely tight or extremely loose, no in between. I lost the ability to write with a pen/pencil. My (then) boyfriend helped with my grip, teaching me to find that middle ground again.

Sometimes my hands and arms, or even a finger, would be pins and needles. Or my feet would be. My feet will go cold and a little numb from time to time.

Fast forward to two years later, I was at Disneyís California Adventure with my fiancť and mother. He had never been to Disneyland, as he was from Ohio and visiting. We got in line for Radiator Springs Racers. Which is considered to be a slot car type, high speed dark ride. It goes 40 miles an hour at the end when you are ďracingĒ. The very next morning, I was terribly sick. I was vomiting, could not sit up, very drowsy, and I was extremely dizzy.

That had happened a few months prior, on the same ride and next morning, this episode was worse as my fiancť and I were going to the Midway in San Diego and thought I was faking. Ever since that episode, I can see spots in my vision. Either clear circles with a darker outline or black spots. My mother had chalked it up to anxiety.

I canít recall when this has started, but my vision in one eye (it changes) gets a little foggy. Iíve been getting clumsier and clumsier since then, not walking into things, but like a loss of balance and falling down and losing my grip on things Iím holding. When Iím in bed, sometimes, I get light headed and I toss and turn all night just to find a position to not feel light headed.

Iím 25 years old. I have a decent diet. Iím about 97 pounds and I am four foot ten. I still experience most of these symptoms.

The best thing to do is see a Primary Care Physician, explain current symptoms. Allow the Dr. to decide what may be needed as far as testing or referrals to a specialist, if needed. What you have explained could be due to just about anything.

Thanks, but that may take a year or two, as I cannot get health insurance where I am without being married.
