Red face Rapid heartbeat/heavy breathing 3 months

    Hi all,
I just got a new Dr. since moving north. I am having some rapud heartbeat even while sitting. It is not consistently rapid, but often over 100 at rest...except when sleeping. I wake with between 50s and low 60's HR. My BP is sometimes high, but mostly the diastolic is starting to be higher. The doc first said CHF (I have edema also.) My blood work BNP came back normal. He was going to do an echo, but because of good blood work he held it off. My lungs were clear. Not sure why I have severe shortness of breath sometimes.

Are you anxious? Your resting heart rate is exactly where it should be suggesting that while you are asleep, you are calm.

Once waking, is something making you anxious? It would be understandable considering the state of the world right now.

Have you tried walking or some sort of outside exercise to help reduce stress?

Have you had your blood sugar tested two hours after eating and upon waking?

Blood pressure is not an ailment, all by itself. An unhealthy blood pressure "normally" indicates an unhealthy metabolism. Back in 1998, I was very sickly and had chronically high blood pressure and unhealthy blood sugar. My doctors and I tried to treat me with multiple medications, which was unsuccessful and my health worsened.

Starting in 2005, I finally woke up and went on a very healthy diet. I not only lost a ton of weight, I started feeling much better and my health improved.

We all hear about what a healthy diet can do for one's health but, until we get sick enough, we resist! If I could go back to my overeating and snacking ways, I would do so in a heartbeat, if only I could!

The following is a graph of my average annual diastolic blood pressures from 1998 thru current, as a result of staying on a healthy diet!
