    Scared oral cancer

    Hello,

I am really scared that I might have tongue cancer. Since 4 days I am experiencing a severe pain in my left side of the tongue, especially when moving it, eating or speaking. I have a missing tooth on this side. I see something like a red spot on the tongue side but I cant see a clear sore or ulcer. I am really scared and that' s awful because I am pregnant after an IVF. Please share your opinions.
    Thank you

It sounds like some sort of infection or canker sore...cancer doesn't usually hurt. But, make an appointment with an oral surgeon- thats who deals with cancers of the mouth.

The home remedy for canker sores is putting salt on it...but that's going to burn and it sounds like it may not be easy to get some on it. Your dentist can prescribe "Magic Mouth Wash" which will also easily take care of it and not burn like salt. Be sure to wash your mouth out well after eating acidic foods. I love tomatoes in the summer and have trouble with this periodically. So I swizzle water around my mouth and spit it out when I eat a plate of tomatoes or citrus fruit.
