Is it safe to get a used CPAP machine?

I have one of those recalled Philips Respironics Dreamstation machines and have been using it after hearing about the recall because so far, I've got no alternative. I have no insurance and don't have the money to buy another one.

I found a used Resmed machine on a charity's website and it was offered to me but was wondering - because of the Covid pandemic, would it be safe for me to use that machine?

I'm not so sure I would use it. Yes, covid is a serious threat, so are other respiratory illnesses. Heck from what I am reading about them machines is just not cleaning them out enough has been causing serious health problems.

So many people have been proscribed these machines. I am under the understanding that they are difficult and time consuming to clean and need to be done daily. It seems like everyone is being proscribed one lately. My doctor even wanted to send me to a sleep clinic for one. I never went.

Come to find out I have diabetes. Now that I am on a diet and taking meds for my diabetes, I am less fatigued and tired all the time. I don't know your conditions or have any medical training, but I would think there's a medical condition that may cause you to have whatever conditions you are having to be on this machine. For me it seems to have been diabetes.

So I am glad I didn't go to a sleep clinic and get a on a machine that was only band aiding the problem.

Apparently diabetes is very common and many people have i and don't even know they have it. I heard that many people cut their carbs (sugars) and had energy back again. I'm not saying this is the case for you, but it was for me it seems.
