Re: Grape Seed Extract
Grapefruit Seed Extract mainly acts as a defense system booster. Has plenty of amino acids and bioflavonoids.

Re: Grape Seed Extract
Yes it does
It is great for hair skin and nails.
It also impoved the condition of my hair.
I was told about it 2 years ago on these boards.
And very glad I started taking it...I now have all my hair back.
And it looks really heathy.
I would recomend it to anyone who is loosing hair.

Re: Grape Seed Extract
Grape Seed extract is a powerful antioxidant and might inhibit abnormal cell growth. Grapefruit Seed extract has antibacterial/antifungal properties and thus may help with infections, yeast problems, etc. (Always dilute the liquid.)

Re: Grape Seed Extract
He's correct, GrapeSeed acts as a defense system booster. Has plenty of amino acids and bioflavonoids.
The best Grapeseed is the one by Nature's Bounty. CVS, WallGreens and the Supermarkets sell it. Thats what I use. It has 50MG of GrapeSeed.
It also contains 15MCG of Selenium. It also has green tea and Bilberry in it
Walmart sells it to. Its under the Spring Valley logo. It says Spring Valley, but Nature's Bounty makes it for them.

Re: Grape Seed Extract
I just bought a bottle of Grape seed extract at GNC. I've been reading and hearing about it's benefits to the capilliary systems and other wonderful benefits against cancers (as an antioxidant).
Is this better than Green Tea extract? Should I take both or one of them is redundant?

Re: Grape Seed Extract
Take them both as i do, also the flavanoids are different in each one (EGCG and Catechins in tea and Anthocyanidins in grape seed). We are now finding out that the purple foods and herbs are the best for longevity and anti aging so along with lots of blueberries, grapes and black beans (all high in anthocyanidins) i take resveratrol caplets (red wine).
As for resveratrol....Jean Calmont who was the longest living person on earth at 122 was asked about her longevity and sound mind to what was her secret the only thing that stood out was since at 15 she had a glass of red wine at dinner all her life and also in the labs resveratrol was and/or is the only compound on earth so far to express the ''Sirtuin 1'' longevity gene in the DNA .....

Re: Grape Seed Extract
6 foot 3, you are so right about resveratrol.
This is one of the best vitamins.
I dont think many people are familiar with it.
A doctor in Italy did a study of it and showed how resveratrol slowed down the aging process.
I get the Nature's way resveratrol.
Soloray also makes a good resveratrol.

Re: Grape Seed Extract
Dan....Thanks for posting about other companies producing Resveratrol as it was hard to find even up to 6 to 7 months ago. I get Longevinex and cost about 35.00 a month (u.s.) I was reading on MIT Technology Review magazine a special article about the Biotech companies working on this Elixer,Sirtris and Geron and how they're getting ready for human trials on this so exciting stuff. Again their research shows that only 2 things on the earth activates the SIRT-1 gene and thats ''Calorie Restriction and Polyphenols'' i.e. Red Wine (resveratrol) Green Tea, Pomegranates, Olive Oil and Grape Seed and Blueberries..Interesting ..........
