Slight fever, weakness, sore throat... help me :-(

I noticed myself feeling ill on Thursday and I had a temp. of 99.6. Today I woke up with a fever of 99.9 and it is currently (friday night) still climbing at 100.6. I don't feel flu-ish and am able to do most of my daily things. I feel very weak, but not exhaused or tired. I've been having cycles of chills and hot flashes. My throat is very sore and very tight. Everytime I cough I feel like I'm going to vomit because it the tightness. I've lost my voice as well. Often straining to talk emits this vomit-feeling as well. What is this? I'm not nauseated very much and can eat normal things. I mean, I'm not chowing down the hot dogs but I am able to eat a bowl of cheerios.

I work around two year olds every day and a few weeks ago one has fifth disease. They said that symptoms can appear up to 20 days after contact. Could this be it? It's a little harsh to be an ear infection, which I often get. I've just never experienced a fever with no nausea before. Help... I may not feel bad but I feel yucky... and I want my voice back!

Well, it sounds like you've got some kind of infection. And one doesn't have to have nausea just because they have a fever. Nausea means there's something in the stomach that doesn't belong if sinuses were draining for example. That can cause nausea on account of the mucus draining into the stomach. Seeing as you can't talk very well, then it's most likely something in your throat. Or maybe it's an allergic reaction to something...

I'm not sure what the 5th disease is but it sounds like a respritory infection to me, I'd go see the doc

There is some kind of flu going around here, Midwest, and I've had it, my hubby & my d-in-law. We also thought of fifths disease, but my d-in-law says you get a rash with that. We all have had a horrible time getting rid of it, it hangs on forever, you're not really down sick, but feel feverish & just out of sorts.
