kelp tablets hi there :) does anybody know what the benefits of kelp tablets are? I know it assists the thyroid and might speed up metabolism....but does this really happen?(sp. the metabolism story) thanks |
Re: kelp tablets Kelp contains high sodium and should be avoided by those with hypertension and other ailments where a sodium restriction applies. Kelp may cause hyper- or hypothyroidism and interfer with treatment being given for abnormal thyroid. Many years ago I went to a health food store to check on kelp thinking it might be good to take. A customer was in the store and said she took a handful of kelp pills every day as well as many other pills. I took one look at her, frail, drawn, sickly looking and decided if that is what kelp does to a person I wanted no part of it!! |
