Can anyone ease my mind (blood in urine)

I am a 23 year old male. 3 months ago I had a UTI with visible blood in my urine and burning during urination. I was prescribed cipro for 10 days took it and it seemed to have went away. Last weekend I was urinating frequently again and had very subtle abdominal pains (almost unnoticable). Went to my doc monday did a urine test, and he said they found trace blood in my urine. Had an appointment with my urologist thursday they did blood test and took another urine sample. CT scan was 1:30pm yesterday.

I am so worried this is some kind of cancer and my life is going to end. I'm already on lexapro for anxiety disorder and I've been taking xanex like they were tic tacs the last few days to deal with my panic attacks thinking that I have some kind of cancer. I know females have trace blood alot but have not heard of this in males much. Can anyone shed some light on this situation so I might be able to get some sleep in the next few days.

Have you been checked for kidney stones? I have traces of blood in my urine from stones. My are small like sand. My pain starts in the back around the kidney's and then moves to the groin area. Best of luck.

sound like you have another UTI. do you drink enough water?

another thought is kidney stones, which both men and women get.

i know its hard, but try not to think the worst. you dont have all the facts yet.

Chances are very good it is something relatively minor and easily treated. You are concentrating on the most extreme of cases, kinda like when I have a headache and decide it's a brain tumor. Really does wear one out thinking the worst.

yes it does sound like kidney stones, you can go to the ER an get this checked soon, also if you think its a UTI they sell these kits in the pharmacy that you can test yourself for urinary tract infections either way go see your doc since if you do have a UTI you will need antibiotics but get tested quick

I just want to reply to this to let people know that I made out completely fine. I've had almost every test in the book (CTscan, urine/blood test/ cytoscopy) and I have no stones cancers cysts or tumors. I did not have a second UTI but he wanted to check all these to make sure because I did previously have one. Everything turned out fine though.

He said the microscopic trade blood they found could have not been a reliable test using the dipstick and that people are known to have a "normal" trace of blood in their urine all the time
