Swelling in one cheek

Hello all,

Boy, am I happy to find this board. I had an issue I wanted to find out about, I hope someone out here can help me.

My wife has a slight swelling in the cheek. Only one side of her mouth. It looked like a gland initially but it doesnt hurt and it is not even a gland anymore. It does feel like a little bit of swelling on the cheek. Does this sound like swollen parotid glands? Does anyone know how large swollen parotids actually get or does it just appear like a small swelling?

An answer would be much appreciated. Many Thanks.....

My 4 year old daughter is having an issue with this as well. We are looking into buccal space infection. She has to go on antibiotics everytime it swells up, which has been happening off and on since last October. All they have said so far is that its not her sinus and its not her tooth. But they have yet to run the other tests including a simple blood test to see what is going on. Let me know if you find out anything on your wife please.

Thanks Growla

Hello there. I have lip swelling on and off when I don't take an antihistamine. Mine is hives under the skin, they don't hurt or itch, just swelling. I do also get hives on my body that do itch and get red. Could your wife have some kind of allergy?

Hi Mary,

She thinks that it may be allergies being as this is the allergy season. I think i will ask her to take an allergy test.

Thanks....
