Unhappy Stevens Johnson Syndrome from Aleve

    Hi,

Anyone out there who ever had this? I am 33 years old and I took Aleve for my migraine and broke out with a very swollen lip which has bubbled and leaked oozy stuff and now burns. I went to the doctor and he said it's Stevens Johnson Syndrome and that I was lucky. They did lab work but my question is what do I use to get rid of this thing on my lip which is dry and cracking and it won't scar.

    Help!

You need to ask this question of your doctor. That is a very serious thing that happened to you - you had a very severe reaction to the drug. If you have not checked the internet on this, you ought to do so, so you can follow up with your doctor. Good luck.

If this is dry and cracked try using Carmex? this is availiable in a little tube or small round container.i used to get alot of lip crap going on like cold sores and just really chapped lips, espescially in winter.i tried the carmex at the suggestion from a friend about ten years ago and now use it evry time i go out and also gob some on my lips before bed every night.for your situation,i would just keep applying it all day long.if you don't keep that cracked area soft and supple all day,as soon as you go to laugh or even open your mouth to eat or something,it will just continue to keep cracking.i really DO highly recommend the carmex tho.i have not even had any cold sores in over ten years since starting to use it.as soon as i feel one coming on.just hit it hard with the carmex, espescially at night.it sits there all night, just working.

If i were you,i would at least give this stuff a try,it really IS the best thing ever for me with regard to chapped and cracked lips.you can get it at any drug store.good luck, and let me know if this works for you.**
