Facial Flushing aggravating me!!

Every night, usually around the same time...9pm or a bit later, I get facial flushing. Sometimes it's only in 1 ear, then it goes down to my face and won't let up for hours.

I don't think it has anything to do with eating, I just can't figure it out. This started about a month ago and it's really driving me up the wall. I don't think I have high blood pressure or anything either. Any ideas anyone?

Are you taking any vitamins or supplements? One in particular (I believe Niacin) can cause flushing.

Menopause? Hot flashes? Depending on your age, this could be it. Usually hot flashes or night sweats don't last for long, but I have read that it's possible.

I "solve" my hot flashes by either (1) getting to a really cold place, like outdoors, or (2) keeping a small fan nearby. I find that if I can cool myself off, the flashes are over quickly.

Do have your BPressure checked out just to be sure. And, are you on any meds (new meds) that could be causing the prob?

Sensitive sympathetic nervous system is most likely the cause. I have a son with this problem, he is in his late 30's now. He had this problem as a child and it has not gone away.

Do you know of anyone else in your family that has this problem? If so, it may be an inherited trait.
