Everytime I get up I cant see anything for a few seconds, sometimes even for a minute. I dont faint but I feel dizzy and light headed. I do have low blood pressure and I have been suffering from anorexia. Could this be the problem? Or maybe is it anemia?
Also is this dangerous?
thank you

Re: blackouts

It could be due to orthostatic hypotension, a lot of healthy people experiance this. When you lay or sit down your blood pressure drops and when you get up suddenly it takes longer for the blood to pump to your head and can cause dizziness and even fainting. I get it all the time, try getting up slower from the position you're in next time.

Re: blackouts

If you're not eating enough your body will eventually start to shut down very slowly. Are you getting any treatment for the anorexia?

Re: blackouts

I know low blood pressure can cause fainting spells & dizziness. Because your Anorexic this is probably aggrevating this condition & I wouldn't be suprised if you're Anemic. Go to your Doctor & get a blood test for Anemia. Hope your better soon.

Re: blackouts

Could be from low blood pressure, and low blood sugar. Hope you are getting treatment as this can be dangerous, your heart could stop and you could die. Please get help somewhere if your not already, you could be damaging your heart beyond repair.
