Really deep cut?

A few hours ago, I was playing basketball with some friends and I was tripped and fell. I scraped up my hands, elbows and thigh pretty bad but I also have a fairly large, deep gash in my knee.

I cleaned it out with some alcohol (burned like crazy!!) and put some neosporin on it but I can see pieces of the pavement in my leg but I can't get them out. I tried sticking my leg under running water in the bathtub, pouring peroxide in it and sterilizing a needle and trying to dig them out, but they just won't budge.

My parents are both out of town and I don't really know what to do. Should I just assume the rest of the pavement pieces will fall out on their own, or should I be concerned of an infection? Is a doctor's visit necessary?

Re: Really deep cut?

A doctor's visit is necessary. They will flush out the wound and pick out all of the pieces until it is clean.
