Health problems and amusement park rides

I have what may seem like a dumb question.
My family and I are planning a vacation in a couple of weeks to Silver Dollar City. I am tired of being chicken, not getting on rides and especially roller coasters. I want to be free of my fears and get on rides like Wildfire and some of the newer rides but I am concerned with health associated risks of riding these rides.
I have mitral valve prolapse, I was diagnosed when I was 18 and I'm 34 now.
In the past 5 years I've been diagnosed with strictures of the esophagus that don't allow me to eat solid foods, a constant burning stomach, acid reflux.
What risks are there of riding roller coasters and other thrill rides due to my health conditions?
Also, can anyone please tell me how to get over my fears? I want to have fun with my family but not at any health related risks or just plain fear

Thanks so much!

Re: Health problems and amusement park rides

If I were you and were concerned about the rides and any health issues I had I would call my doctor and ask if he/she thought it was safe to ride these rides.
Hope this helps!

Re: Health problems and amusement park rides

I think some rides mention health problems, whether or not is a recommended ride. I don't think you are being chicken, I think you are being practical! Maybe you can call ahead and ask the amusement park about it? Even if you don't ride the roller coaster, there is still a lot of fun to be had. Have a great time!
