afternoon fever

For the past few months, I've been spiking a fever every afternoon. Not high - a degree or so - but my cheeks get really flushed, and sometimes my ears do too. It starts between 2-3 p.m. and lasts until bedtime. And the last month, every night, my feet are like ice cubes. I've had several sinus infections this year, so I've been on antibiotics off and on, but this always comes back. Any thoughts?

Re: afternoon fever

It's normal for our body temp to increase slightly in the late afternoon, early evening, peaking around 6pm. Our lowest body temp happens in the early morning, around 4am.

I'm guessing that if you're fighting off a chronic sinus problem on top of that, mid to late afternoon is when you'd notice your temp really starting to spike.

Have you been tested to rule out sinus fungal allergy? An overgrowth of fungus in the sinus (called a fungal ball) can cause repeated sinus attacks that mimic bacterial infection.
