Hi! I've had something like this happen before. I think you need to get a chest x-ray, because you might have fluid or air in between your lung and chest wall. I've experienced, on more than one occasion, sharp pain in my chest (I've had it on both sides at different times), which has stinted my breathing due to pain from moving my chest. Turns out I had spontaneous pneumothorax, which is a collapsed lung with no cause. My lung had only been collapsed 10%, which is extremely painful, but did not required chest tubes to reflate the lung. It just took a few days for it to normalize. You might have air/fluid in the pleural cavity, which can cause a "pop" feeling as it moves. I'd suggest seeing a doctor, because I know the pain is horrible.
