Unhappy Drinking tons of water, but barely urinating at all

    Hello all,

This started yesterday and I'm just getting a little uneasy about it. I've been drinking a lot of water (drank about 8 glasses today, glasses that are about 16oz. each). I still feel like I need to drink more water. The weird part is I am hardly urinating at all. I don't feel like I need to go very often and when I do finally go it is very little, probably about a tenth of what I usually go.

Should I be worried? I've been feeling a bit weaker than usual too.

    Thanks,
    Liz

Maybe you are dehydrated. Have you been working out alot or in the hot sun? I actually got this way in the mountains. You may want to get checked out. Try not to be alarmed.

I actually haven't been as active lately due to an ankle injury. I went outside, but only for maybe a half hour and it's not hot here. Just mostly confused I guess. Usually I urinate pretty frequently so it's just unusual.

If you are waking up and drinking water, you may need to get checked out for diabetes. That is one major sign of diabetic person. good luck!

    Reihaneh,

You are right that increased thirst may be a sign of diabetes but to my knowledge it is always accompanied by increased urination and lizardwoman's issue is that she feels she's not urinating enough.

not urinating - sounds like something dangerous - or potentially life-threatening. the urine you do pass? is it dark or light? - Do you feel bloated if you are not passing urine - have you had diarrhea recently. Check your blood pressure ( you may have created a incredible hypertensive state) also check your pulse, it can indicate dehydration if it is fast.

you may be borderline hypoxic too. that is something that can kill you.
