Tightness in intestinal region/pelvis followed by soreness on left side

I've had a host of health issues lately, but for the past few days have been feeling better; however, yesterday they all seemed to return and I need some advice.

Yesterday I had this tightening pain in what felt like my intestines/pelvic region. It felt really similar to contraction during labor, with pain/weakness going into my legs. I thought, at first, it was the fact that I'm on my period, but when I woke up this morning, my whole left side feels sore as if someone punched me in my side. It doesn't hurt much when I'm sitting, but if I lift something or bend over or cough, it hurts. I'm even more concerned because I've had some light green stools for the past few days, although I'm not sure if it's related seeing as I've been eating a lot of leafy greens. I've been having some health issues related to GI issues. I have yet to get a diagnosis, but I'm feeling worried because it hurts so badly when I move. It feels like a pulled muscle, but I didn't do anything yesterday to cause it, what could this be? Could it be from the tightening (which is what I was suspecting at first)? Also, what could cause that tightening that I was feeling? Again, I know I'm on my period and it felt similar to cramps, but they felt so much higher up I wasn't convinced the tightness was from that. Anyways, if you could offer any advice about this, I would appreciate it. I would go to the doctor, but my insurance won't pay for a visit again until July the 1st, so it's either try to figure it out myself or the ER, which won't do much for me unless I'm dying.

Re: Tightness in intestinal region/pelvis followed by soreness on left side

At first I thought of gallbladder but you say your pain is on the left side. It could be a case of Diverticulitous. Do you feel feverish? If it continues I would make the trip to an ER at least they would test you and maybe find out what it could be or at least offer a suggestion to reduce the pain.

Yes sometimes what we eat determins the color of our stools, but loose and watery sounds more like bile. There is a nasty stomach virus going around, but as I said, if it gets worse or continues much longer seek help.

Best of wishes...JJ...
