    Thoracic Outlet Syndrome!

I have recently been diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I was sent from doctor to doctor through many specialists to get this diagnosis finally.
I'm 19, I have a constant aching pain that started 4 years ago in my right hand and thumb that slowly has spread up my arm to my shoulderblade, shoulder, collarbone (stabbing pain here), neck, and jaw. I also get numbness/tingling in my right hand and headaches that start at the base of my neck and up to my eyebrows. I didn't have any big accident or anything, it just is gradually getting worse to the point where I need to take the time and money to figure it out. I am really athletic. I played soccer for many years, then swam competitively, and twirled flag/baton.
I've done PT, chiropractic, immobilizing my hand, cortisone shot in my hand, EMG (negative), MRI (clear), xray (results are coming to see if I have an extra rib).
I'm going to meet with an expensive TOS specialist in Berkely named Dr. Ellis who says he can give me a sure diagnosis and help me to know what to do about this. He says he wants to give me a Heparin shot in the thoracic outlet. Does anyone know why a blood thinner would help a nerve problem? Should I try other things first? Any suggestions or similar experiences?

I feel like my life is on hold while I wait for appointment after appointment to no avail And I really want to be able to workout and swim again.

Any comments or advice would be highly appreciated!
