dry scalp

I hope this is the right place to post my question, if not I am sorry.

Recently I decided to grow my hair long. I researched for tips on how to do so.
One of the things I learned is to wash the hair less often.
At first my scalp was oily from not washing, but I learned that it is a transition you go through. After a few weeks my head stop being oily and got really really nice. My hair is growing almost one inch a month from some changes I made and things I've been doing to get it to grow. But recently my scalp has been really dry and I can't figure out why. Twice a week I do oil treatments and massage oil in my scalp, etc...wash it like normal (with natural shampoo, no synthetic chemicals).
My question is,
Does anyone know what I could do to help my scalp not be dry? I would rather it be oily like it was at the beginning. I just hate this dryness.
I eat very well. Oatmeal, flax, chia, fruits, veggies, herb tea, drink lots of water, etc...It's not my health or anything.
Anyway, if I could figure out how to stop this dryness I sure would be happy.

Re: dry scalp

I heard that it's good to spritz hair with water daily and seal in the moisture with all these oils like Olive, castor, etc. It should help keep your hair moisturized. Hope this helps.
