Medication causing hair shedding - can a supplement help?

I take a medication for severe migraines. Started about 2 months ago, and it definitely helps. But, my hair is not liking it. Long strands are coming out. I've got quite a bit of hair so I'm not panicked yet. But as time goes by, I know it will bother me.

Has anyone had any luck with a biotin supplement - stopping the shedding caused by medication? Meaning did it stop the hair fall, or will the hair fall subside after my body gets "used" to the medication? I'm taking 25 mg of Nortriptyline daily.

Years ago I went through a traumatic experience and had quite a bit of hair shedding. During that time, my dermatologist recommended a supplement called Elon Matrix 5000. It definitely helped...but wondered if anyone had experience using that or another supplement for medication - induced hair loss?
