    Ingrown Hair

I shave my chest, back of my neck, and my genital area occasionally. About a week or two after shaving my genital area, a large red lump appeared along my belt line where my pants sit usually. I am almost positive it is an ingrown hair, however it is so deep there is no way I can pull it out. I think it just keeps on growing deeper and deeper and now the red lump is a pussing, bleeding, flaming wound. At one point it was completely healed over, but now its like a volcano the size of my thumbnail. I have large fingers... I occasionally get small ingrown hairs on the back of my neck but I cant never get them out and they just remain little red bumps. What should I do? If you can't remove an ingrown hair and the skin heals above it, what happens? Can hairs just remain beneath the skin forever or does your body eventually destroy it and the follicle? I have a feeling my pussing wound will eventually go away as it is getting smaller as days go by, although it is extremely painful. But, I will never get the hair out. Thanks for your time.

Hey I know it was an infection but as far as the little ingrown hairs on the back of your neck .... putting a hot washcloth on the area a few times a day will draw the hair out. Also you can try Tendskin (I get mine at Sephora stores) it draws out the hair because the solution makes the hair stick straight out and causes it to puncture the skin like it normally would. Ingrown hairs are usually the cause of hair that curls.

Hope this helps even though the bump on your belt line was an infection.

Yes, use Tendskin or Ingrow Go. Apply it twice a day and don't pick at the spot. It will clear up in a week. It sounds like you have a boil so picking at it will just make it larger.
