    Balding from highlights HELP

    Hi,

It was about 7 months go that i had my highlights redone...the first time my hair was fine but the second time when my hairdresser put on the dye n wrapped it in foil it started to burn, the foil was REALLY hot...i think some kind of product in my hair had a bad reaction to the dye....she kept going though...she just didnt use foil but these plastic things..
Um now i notice that i have lost alot of hair in sections where my highlights were done....PLZ somone tell me that this isnt permanent damage...I am FREAKING out
I had such gorgeous hair and now im losing it!
    Is it forever?
I am certain its from the highlights and not hereditary baldness.
Did i really screw it up that bad?
Will it grow back if i just stop highlighting and messign with it?
I'm looking for some reasurrance PLZ help me.

I would call you hairstylist immediately and let her/him look at it. I get my hair colored and highlighted and that has never happened, but if it did I would her/him fix it.

Hi, it's more then likely breakage where the hair was probably "melted" off.

By chance do you use Pantene shampoo/conditioner?

If you had this happen 7 months ago...I don't think there's any chance of being reimbursed or having it fixed.

Maybe a good haircut would get it all off and then you can start anew?
It wouldn't be permanent damage...but hair takes a while to grow out.

What else are you doing to your hair in its delicate state....iron? straightening iron? etc.

Im not helping it constant washing....blowdrying....straightening.. .
I just got a haircut yesterday....and I dyed my whole head dark brown...hoping to put some oxygen back in....
I know it was that weird chemical reaction that ruined my hair
Now Im going to try and treat it better and see if it gets better within the next few months
I just wanted to know if the damage was permanent

Protein and moisture is what the hair needs to remain strong and flexible. Oxygen? It's what helps open the hair cuticle to help remove pigment and deposit colour.

Chemical reaction could have been from products you were using before the bleach was applied. A hair wash, protein treatment and dry before the process would have helped avoid this.

The damage isn't permanent....only until the damaged hair grows out.

Protein and moisture....not too much of protein or it will cause the hair to be brittle as well.

    Maybe go for funky hair!

What style did you get done? What hair dye product did you use?
