Is Stadol NS (butorphanol) still available?
Dear Headache Healthboard Users,
Is Stadol Nasal Spray still available in the US? The pharmacies in my locale (Central Florida) have an apparent problem obtaining it from their wholesalers.
I have done research and discovered that generic versions are obtainable from other countries. However, it becomes increasingly difficult for US citizens to purchase these generic versions.
Maybe I am just not in the right local pharmacies. One odd personal account: I entered a reasonably reliable (so I thought) local drug store and visibly saw a Brand Name Stadol NS bottle. When I commented that I was thankful upon seeing their bottle of Stadol, they completely denied that they had it in their possession. I pointed it out to them, they stumbled around finding an excuse. Finally, they told me that the bottle ("canister" as they put it) was already reserved for another customer. The entire experience was disturbing and seemed deceitful.
My internet research revealed the names of 2 foreign countries (Canada and, perhaps, Mexico).
Does anyone have any idea concerning this helpful medication? In the US (in most states), Stadol is a Schedule IV controlled substance. I will gladly follow every rule possible to purchase this extremely helpful headache medicine--assuming I can get it!!
Please let me know if it is possible to obtain this medication!
Sincerely,
Jon
