Cervical Spine Blockage???

Just to update anyone who has read this.
I called NHS24 again last night to check if I was safe to keep taking painkillers as this has been going on a long time, and they made me see a doctor again as I still have symptoms. The doctor gave me some migraine medicine (Maxalt) but unfortunately that did nothing to improve things. She said I need full blood work, x-rays and CAT scan to find out what's going on. She didn't think it was actually anything to do with my neck though. As she wasn't my regular doctor she couldn't get any tests done. I have an appointment on Friday so hopefully I can start the ball rolling trying to find out what this is.
If anyone has any suggestions on good, natural or non-medical pain relief that would be great as I'm a little worried about taking paracetamol (acetominophen) for so long!

Just in case anyone is reading this:
I saw my doctor today, they took more blood from me than I knew I had, she has given me something for sickness/dizziness and some different pain meds. If the blood tests are inconclusive she'll refer me for a CAT scan.

See a physiotherapist.

Syndol may help the pain better than other analgesics (ask your chemist for it)

Thanks for the reply. I'm laying off the painkillers for the time being to prevent rebound headaches developing, but I might try Syndol because I know it has a muscle relaxant. They don't seem to think it's muscular any more though. Just waiting on the bloods results, should get them Tuesday.

I really dont know what cervical spine blockage is but i've had severe headaches for around 10 years now,at times not too bad and times i cant get out of bed to move,i was hospitalized a couple times.i'm seeing a doctor now whos great(everyone other one wanted to stick me on tooooo many pain meds)i have nausea,dizziness,stiff neck(my neck range of motion isent good)at times the pain is in my shoulders,lower back,i get sweaty,and terible pain.my doctor says i have nerve damage.hes done nerve blocks and they work wonders(but last between a couple days to a few weeks)im falso on meds(ive tried sooo many)and found a pretty good combination,theyve done so many mris and cts and found nothing.before every other doctor said it was stress,migranes.i cant bend down,laugh,cry,get mad(any heavy emotion)carry heavy things,push things or the headache is incredible,my head feels like it weighs 100s of pounds.i think think of the exacy name for the diagnosis.the doctor i see now is a headache speacilist(ive seend almost every other doctor in the city)hes finally got my headaches where there under control,i still have my bad days,not as many-in the morning today was a bad one,i have injectables i take and i did it and it helpped they are my emergancy meds.hope this helps some.good luck

Thanks very much. The bloods all came back normal and I'm starting on low dose Amitriptyline until I can see a specialist.
