    Post weird headache - concerned

ok dont know how or where to start

if this is just american based then anyone suggesting places to go wont have much use as im in the uk, but im looking for some advice

right im 17 and about 1 month ago i woke up and felt palpatations (i know its not headache related im getting there) so i went to doctors and ive been referred to a specialist whom i am still awaiting an appointment from

it had me constantly worried and i took a week or 2 off college i could feel my heart all the time and i felt like it was struggling and going to just give up at any time so obviously i was getting myself very upset, i was prescribed some beta blockers and they havent got rid of the palpatations but they calmed me down a little

last week i woke up with a headache sort of right on the top of my head it wasnt too bad but id got it into my head it was a tumour but anyways i felt like pain all the way up my neck up to this, this pain was different and my mum told me it was a tension headache as she had recently experienced one..so i took some tablets for this which got rid of it but the pain at the top remained
i took some ibuprofen for this as i was taking them for chest pains i was also experiencing which have now gone but they didnt seem to work much, i went to my doctor who said it was probably something muscle related

but i then experienced another sort of headache, really strange its on the left side of my head above my ear and a bit further back (the pain on the top is also situated more left than centre) but this wasnt really like a headache i think its like a burning sensation..or something like this its really hard to explain i also felt the same sort of pain in my eye and it felt a bit worse if i tipped my head that way..it felt like it was filling up or something im not sure but i was really worried so i went to hospital...they told me to carry on taking the ibuprofen but it doesnt really go. at 2am the other night it felt really bad and i was scared to go to sleep i thought something was going to explode it hurt to touch it too so i watched tv for a while and calmed down..but in the morning after i finally got to sleep i was still very worried so after another trip to hospital even though it wasnt as painful to touch anymore he told me to take ibuprofen as well as paracetamol so now im on 11 painkillers a day for a pain thats not even that bad it seems the funny burning sensation nearly goes then the pain at the top of my head comes and vice versa after trying both lots of painkillers yesterday i now have the burning 1 although its not as bad as the other night
also when i go to bed if i lie completely still it sort of tingle all over so i have to keep moving...once i get to sleep i wake up maybe once a bit earlier than usual and both types of headache are nearly non existent but i have a still feeling neck, once i get up and move around the neck pain goes and 1 of the headache comes (although i dont think there as bad now). 1 other thing i get little muscle twitches in my legs they dont put me off but im just getting myself really worried as i was reading up some causes of brain tumours are muscle twitches although i dont have other symptons like feeling sick (i dont know how accurate my sources are) ive still got in my head that ive got a brain tumour and im going to die...its really scaring me and im getting depressed its constantly on my mind and im not concentrating at college as im constantly worrying

does anyone experience the same sort of feeling or any ideas wot it is ill be most appreciative and hopefully someone can ease my mind thx

viper, dont worry yourself! I jhave a brain tumor and an arachnoid cyst and my dr has told me that neither is the cause of my headaches. I had the worst headache ever and it lasted for 27 straight days. I couldnt do anything because the pain was so bad. drs put me on all kind of meds and it turned out that elavil 25 mg. was all that it took to get rid of the pain. I have not had a headache in over 2 weeks and as long as i take the pill every night, i wont have a headache (so says the dr). there are all kinds of brain tumors and most are not cancerous and dont even cause any problems (mine is in my pituitary gland) but you might want to have an mri performed just to see if there is anything there that may be causing the pain. let us know how things fair for you but in th emeantime try not to think the worst....think positive and get an mri.

i have alot of those same symptoms i also have nervousness, eye disturvances and other things mine is due to pinched nerves and whiplash have you tried going to the chiropractor they are trained to look for brain tummor and things of that nature with out all the expensive procedures. i would look into that if i was you. it could be something as simple as a pinched nerve and pinched nerves can cause alot of different things. it can be very scary but alot of times it is really nothing. it is funny how we always think the worst. but that is why we are here for sapport. i hope i help a little bit. oh ya one other thing brain tummors are actually rare. so i really dont think you have to worry about that. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/gabby.gif
