Depression as prodrome?

Every few weeks I get a headache which is different from the normal tension type headaches I usually get. This headache is more like a burning sensation which is accompanied by irritability and a depressed state. Sometimes when its really bad I will act very obsessive compulsive, ie. straightening up papers on my desk, and will feel anxious. I almost feel like i don't have control of my mind and I can't life myself out of the depressed mental state. These symptoms have lasted anywhere from a day to three days. I have considered that it may be depression but it is very episodic and it is always accompanied by the head pain so I am not sure it is depression. These particular headaches leave me feeling almost hungover for a day or two. I have been cleared via MRI for anything serious. Any ideas what this may be? My mother has a history of migraines and minor TIA's.
