There are many symptoms to lyme disease. I recommend that you check out like the third or fourth closed message board on this site under "Lyme Disease." It is an archive of people's symptoms that have been diagnosed. I have an appointment next week for a LLMD(lyme literate medical doctor). I will let you know how that goes. Fingers crossed!

Re: Chronic headaches and facial pressure for over 2 years!

    Rochelle,

I read your post and want you to know that I am going through exactly what you are for the last six months. I feel like crying right now because the pain is so bad. I have seen numerous doctors who keep saying its migraines but i know in my heart it is my sinus. I know how you feel when you say you wake up with the pain and go to bed with the pain. My doctor doesn't seem to believe me and I don't know where to turn anymore. I am now taking somekinda seizer medication she has perscribed that I have very little faith in.

I do have a deviated septum and I too have had all the CT's, Xrays, Anitibiotics, Accupuncture etc. I have an appt with a ENT specialist in January for a consult and I hope she will be able to do surgery and fix this problem. I just don't know if I can wait that long. I am so desperate right now. I read somewhere on the internet about a new product called "Sinus Blaster" avail in the U.S. that is suppose to give instant relief to migraine and sinus pain. Maybe try that. Unfortunately its not avail here in Canada yet but I will drive accross the border to buy it if i have to.

Good luck and please keep me posted.

    Best Regards

My head one day started off just with an immense pressure, feeling like my head was in a vice! It was in my temples, forehead, over my nose, in my septum and behind my eyes just feeling like they were being pushed out!

Initially I was diagnosed with a sinus infection, took the antibiotics and they seemed to work but after a few days it came back. I got referred to an ENT after taking loads of antibiotics, nasal sprays etc, to no avail.

I have since then seen 5 ENT's and have 2 sinus CAT scans, both being clear and all ENT's saying it's not related. Also seen a Neurologist with no avail still. They told me it was neuralgia so i tried amatriptyline and started off with 10 mls then 20, no success, then tried a similar drug with no success.

I have also tried acupuncture once a week for 3 months with teas and cupping, hypnosis (at one point they said it could be psychological) osteopathy, massage, homeopathy for 4 months, kept food diaries to see if anything i eat or drink makes any difference, and it doesn't. Although when I have a glass or 2 of wine it sometimes relieves the pressure but that's the only thing so far that has relieved it but then again it's only short lived.
Also have seen a dentist and optician as it affects my vision aswell, it feels like looking through a fish bowl, and the feeling of standing up too quickly when you feel a bit dizzy, but it's constant.

It's like this from the minute I wake up to the minute I go to bed, when it first started I had to quit my job because it was so debilitating.

I'm going to see a biomechanic physical therapist to see if she can help me in anyway so fingers crossed.

If anyone in any way can help me with anything I've not tried, please let me know. I'm so desperate. It would be interesting to hear if anyone else who has gone through this as I don't know of anyone who has!

    Thanks so much.

Hi 13 years and counting with constant daily headaches. I wish i had an easy answer to your problem but I do not. I have done and seen and taken any suggested cure for this problem with little help. I do not want to be a downer but truthful. There is a paper back book called ALL IN MY HEAD by PAULA KAMEN . You can get it used on ****** for 5$. It was very helpful may save you time money frustation.

Hope I was helpful I know the book will be.

Re: Chronic headaches and facial pressure for over 2 years!

Can you tell me what kind of test they performed on you? Do you know if there is any mri out there that can show pain. I see them do this on tv but wonder if that technology really does exists. I pray every night before I go to bed that the next day i will wake up and it will be gone. My prayers keep going unanswered. I feel so desperate and helpless. Today I snapped at one of my employees and hurt their feelings. This is so out of character for me. I apologized for my actions but I know that its starting to affect my personality and my work and I feel so bad now. I have a great job and good employees and don't want to loose that.

I will try to hold off and see the ENT in January and if I get no results I will definetly try this clinic. Thank you sooooo much for your response Jim. It helps to know there is help out there. Did you have sinus pain or do you think it was migraine? I'm sorry for all the questions but I have so many.

    Thanks again.

Angie, they performed CT Scan and MRI with and without contrast. They all showed nothing.I was hopeing for a benign tumor so it could be diagnosed removed and my pain would stop.Pain is subjective ,I don't know of anything that can measure it.My pain is/was neither sinus nor migraine. It was in my forehead area where sinus pain would be but my sinuses are clear, only thing left are nerve issues. Glad to help ask me anything you want I'll help if I can. Jim Maguire

Re: Chronic headaches and facial pressure for over 2 years!

    Jim,

Thank You for your response. Both of my CT scans are clear too. I too prayed that they would find something on my CT. I totally understand where you are coming from. The unfortunate thing is that the Dr's can't feel our pain. They have no idea what we are going through. I wish for one day they could feel what we feel then they would find the source of the problem.

I have to tell you. I tried this product that is new in Canada but is avail in the U.S. called Sinus Buster. Its actual pepper spray that you spray into your nasal passage. I received it in the mail today and tried it. I have to say it works. I got about 1 1/2 hours relief from it and just sprayed again. What it does it numbs the nerves in your nasal passages to give your pain relief. I will keep you posted on how it works. I just wish I could get permanent relief and feel normal again.

Are you still suffering with pain? How long has it been? How old are you?

I was told it could be hormones, alergies, changes in weather. Who knows?

    Write soon..

    Angie

Angie not too bad .Went to a new Neurologist was diagnosed with "New Daily Persistant Headache" Google it ,interesting too much info for me to write. I'm 62 .I run, lift weights, do Pilates, don't smoke or drink eat low fat etc., then I get this, can be pretting frustrating but I have to remember a saying I learned in a Drug Re-hab in 1971 "you have to play the cards your delt".Playing the best I can. Re: Chronic headaches and facial pressure for over 2 years!

    Jim,
Thanks for info. If I were you I would start drinking, smoking and doing all the things you shouldn't be doing to maybe turn this thing around. I know that's just a crazy thought.
For me, I do all of the above and have enjoyed life to the fullest and maybe I am now paying for it. Who knows? I'm a big gambler so dealing with the cards fits well.
I did try that sinus buster the last couple of days. It gives me relief for about an hour or two then I have to take more. It does not get rid of it completely but takes away about 75% of pain away and leaves just a minor dull ache. I'm going to use it for the next two months to get me through to my dr. appt with ENT in January. Honestly, I have lost fait in the Dr's. Terrible to say but so tired of all the tests and dr. visits with no end in sight. Keep in touch Jim... try the sinus buster...
