    Re: constant headache

I have had headaches for years. I have been fortunate because I was able to figure out 2 things that caused my daily headaches. The major thing for me was Aspartame (nutrasweet). I would chew a piece of sugarless gum at the end of every day of work. By the time I got home, I would have a huge headache. Because my job was computer related, everybody thought it was eye strain. After searching on the internet, I found out about aspartame. I stopped the sugarless gum and my daily headaches went away. It only takes one slice of sugarless gum to give me a migraine. One day I bought a soda. I had a huge migraine later that day. I pulled out the soda bottle and discovered I bought diet by mistake. My other trigger is hormonal. I am now on Yaz birth control, taking an active pill everyday. After the 4 months (terrible months) of getting my body adjusted to the Yaz, I was headache free. BTW, I have had no problems with YAZ as seen in the TV lawsuit commercials about Yaz. Now, I again, am suffering from headaches. This time it's seems to be different. Pain in the base of my head/neck that moves forward. Waking up with headaches. Very frequent headaches, almost daily. I have been thru some stessful events in my life and handle stress very well. I am not going thru anything too stressful at the moment. I had a brain MRI yesterday. I am waiting for the results.

Do you eat/drink anything with aspartame (Nutrasweet)? If so, please stop and see if it helps. It's worth a try.

    Good luck

I don't think that anyone knows every cause of a depressed skull fracture
so you should carefully examine yourself it could be an early childhood
    concussion.

wouldn't that show up on an MRI or a CAT Scan? I have had multiple of both and everything is fine.

No, I don't believe that they would identfy a depressed skull fracture because
they can't see or feel the sensation and they probably don't understand the
problem because it's a routin problem and it's not life threating for a long time
that's why you need to see a specialist who can understand the problem and
    the sensation.

You need to read about depressed skull factures and Dr. Ben Wedro. Ok, let me be more
specific I think they are having trouble matching the sensation with the picture so you could be right it should show up on an MRI or CAT scan and it's probubly very confusing for anyone.

    Re: constant headache

Surely a fracture would be picked up on a scan?

    Anyway,

I know exactly how you feel, almost 3 years for me. I wake up with it, go to bed with it, i never have a clear head and people dont understand how if affcts you!

All my tests come back clear and i get the same old 'its stress' from doctors.

Been on soooo much medication and none of them worked, my GP wont even refer me for half of the things you have been through.

I hope you find out something to relieve it, i'll be interested to see how it goes for you and will write if i get any help myself.

    Re: constant headache

I was having severe unberable headaches and I couldn't sleep for more than
three or four hours without physical therapy and muscle relaxants and sleeping
pills so I really believe in physical therapy especially for intense constant
headaches and I heard that intense physical therapy release endorphins to
help control pain and I like Robaxin and Ambien.

Sorry to hear of your headache pains. This is my first post here.

I've had chronic headaches since June 2001. Had 24/7/365 pain for the first 8 of those years, until I was diagnosed with Occipital Neuralgia. The only thing that works for me is the nerve block and trigger point injections. Have you seen more than one neurologist? I had to see 3 or 4 before getting properly diagnosed.

Headpain - have you tried a tricyclic antidepressant (amitriptyline or nortriptyline?)

These have a side effect of helping relieve headache pain, and are widely used

    Ask your neurologist about them.
